HOW IT WORKS WITHOUT JAVASCRIPT

Each mole is a <label> wrapping a hidden checkbox. Whacking it checks the box.
A CSS counter adds 1 for every checked box, and ::after prints the score.
Every mole has its own @keyframes pop-up with a set delay, so the whole round is choreographed in advance.
"Insert coin" is a checkbox too. :has(#play:checked) switches all the animations on.
The game-over screen is just an animation delayed 30 seconds. "Play again" is a form reset button that unchecks everything.
